DrumsWest was started by the famous Ward Durrett in Estes Park. Ward is a legend in the percussion world and is credited for starting the indoor marching competitions nationwide.

Ward relocated the business to Boomer Music where he ran it for several years. Ward retired from the drum shop business and Peter Knudson, who worked side by side with Ward, has run it since.

Peter worked for 17 years at Colorado Drum & Percussion in Ft Collins and has been a very active player in Colorado for many years.
